Eligible RecipientsHigh school seniors and college undergraduates who identify as female, reside in the United States and wish to pursue a STEM-related field of education. Application ProcessAt Hyundai, we are on a journey to proactively promote a shift towards electrification and sustainability. Write an essay of 500 words or more on the journey you will take to promote a positive shift towards sustainability in your chosen STEM field. Then, include the link to your essay on your application form. Girls Who Code offers two FREE programs in the summer: the Summer Immersion Program and the Self-Paced Program. Applicants can apply for BOTH programs, if eligible, using this application. However, students can only participate in one Summer Program. The Summer Immersion Program (SIP) is a live, virtual, 2-week introductory computer science course for current eligible 9th, 10th, and 11th grade US students and international students ages 14-18. SIP participants learn web development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while getting an inside look into the tech industry through incredible company partners. In addition to a completely free program, we offer grants up to $500 and tech support for qualifying students. The Self-Paced Program is a 6-week flexible computer science course for current eligible 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade US students (including SIP alumni and graduating seniors) and international students ages 14-18 who prefer not to adhere to a set schedule. Self-Paced Program participants can choose to earn beginner-level badges in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for web development or an intermediate-level badge in Python for cybersecurity. Students will also have the opportunity to build community through weekly live advisory sessions and Girls Who Code activities. Questions? Chapter HX, in Westminster, Colorado has established three scholarships of up to $2,000 each to be awarded to a high school senior woman. Please visit the P.E.O. Scholarship Uses: The non-renewable Colorado Chapter HX Scholarship may be used for non-taxable costs, such as tuition, fees and books. Funds used by the educational institution in this manner will normally be used during the fall semester of the freshman year and are not subject to tax liability. Alternatively, funds may be used for items that are taxable such as room and board. The recipient and her family will make the decision on how the scholarship funds will be used. If they are used for taxable expenses, then the recipient and her family will be responsible for paying the necessary taxes levied on the amount of the scholarship. How to Apply:
